Walking thoughts

As I was walking along the seawall in Coal Harbour this morning
I wondered why I often choose this route for my morning walks.

On one side I am surrounded by condos
that sell for a minimum of one million dollars
and on the other side I am walking alongside
billions of dollars worth of floating pleasure craft!

Many of the condos sit empty
and the boats seldom leave the docks.
In order to lift my spirits I need to revise my route!

Despite the real estate mess in Vancouver,
I am very happy to be Canadian!

Walking back to the apartment along English Bay
I spotted this information sign and wondered how long it would take
for nature to reclaim this city if humans disappeared?!

The wait is over and birthday flags

It was a strange day while we waited to hear about our offer for a Langley condo. At 9:00pm we received a call from our realtor with the news that none of the offers were presented because the seller could not be reached! All offers expired at 9:00pm!! This is not fun!

Tonight's dinner was a birthday celebration for our grandson.

His current interests, other than football, are geography and flags
so we gave him a 38' long strip of 2014 FIFA flags.

Still waiting

Still waiting to hear about our offer!

You never know what you'll find along the seawall.
A long series of photos is posted along the walkway...
depicting inside spaces of downtown condos
that we can't afford to own!

Crazy real estate

We have finally entered the craziness of the Greater Vancouver Real Estate market. Our offer on a condo in Langley was submitted this morning along with two other offers that were forwarded within one hour of ours. This is the reality of being a hopeful buyer in an area that is 46km from downtown Vancouver. Now we wait!

A summer morning

Sitting on the back deck of my sister's house with my morning coffee...

...looking at the sky...

...and her gorgeous floral display on a beautiful summer morning!

A swim and Princess Peach

Earlier this week we invited Heather, Chris & Augie
to enjoy some time in the rooftop pool with noodles and a beach ball.

The wind was cool but the pool was heated to around 80 degrees.

We are house sitting for my sister in Surrey for three days.
One of our pleasures is spending time with "Princess Peach".
She is a very friendly and loving cat.

Damned APP!

I just looked back over the posts that were made on my iPad while in apologies to anyone who was following. The APP that I used imported photos in the wrong size and placed them randomly instead of following my directions. It is not possible to edit the placement of the photos now. There will definitely be a learning curve ahead of our next travels!

Lots of time for reading on grey June days.

Granville Island Market

Visiting the market always awakens our senses!

And then there is a walkabout to inhale the views around the island...

...and add some love to our day!

This morning's walk took me part way around the Stanley Park seawall.

In Vancouver

We are in Vancouver and recovering from jetlag.

This morning, at 7:00am, we walked down to Denman Street for coffee at our favourite spot.
It isn't quite summer today but yesterday's rain refreshed the plants and the air.

Another sunrise

We set sail from the island with another sunrise this morning at 6:00am.

The ferry was loaded...with finesse!

The sun is starting to brighten the sky behind Chora.

Farewell dinner

We enjoyed a delicious farewell dinner last night prepared by Theo and Georgia. Yummmmhhhh!

Georgia's creations!

It was a smaller group of good friends.
Penelope, Yorgos and Myrto joined us later.

Love the graininess of this photo!
