Vancouver Island visit

We just returned from a visit to Vancouver Island...my sister lives in Campbell River
and our daughter & family in Comox. It was great to experience the areas
where they have decided to resettle.

This guy was spinning a huge nest on the outside of the Theatre.

A creative use of driftwood.

Princess Peach is totally relaxed in her new home!

Augie gave us a fitness equipment demonstration

We discovered a park in Comox named after my ancestors!

74...Really?!

When I woke up this morning, on the 74th anniversary of my birth,
I acknowledged that the path ahead is shorter in terms of time...
but...I will ensure that it continues to be rich in experiences.

Thank you to family and friends who sent special wishes today!

New kitchen counters

New kitchen counters were installed today.
Now I have to decide on a colour
for the small sections of kitchen walls...maybe "curry"?

Outdoor Painting challenge

Opus Art Supplies hosted an Outdoor Painting challenge in several communities today. There was no cost for participants and we each received an 8"x10" canvas board, a map of the designated area and a pin that indicated we didn't mind if photos were taken. So, I joined about 200 other participants in Langley in the quest to create a small image before 3:00pm.

Artists ranged in age from 5-85 years of age and used a variety of media...watercolour, oils, pastels, ink, coloured pencils and even a glue gun to adhere found objects onto the canvas board.

I chose to do a simple collage with a painted background

At 4:00pm Opus employees drew for prizes. The lucky winners (of course I was not in that group) took away valuable art supplies and gift cards from Opus. The prizes were amazing!
