A visit to Kelowna

We drove to Kelowna yesterday in search of new shoes for John. As usual he bought the first and only pair that he tried on.....and, within ten minutes we were back in the car. I suggested that we should visit the Kelowna Art Gallery which was exhibiting "A Story of Canadian Art: As Told by the Hart House Art Collection".

This exhibition included pieces by Varley, Harris, Jackson and Emily Carr but the ones that made a lasting impression for me were pieces by Charles Comfort and David Milne.

Prairie Road by Charles Comfort (1925)

Young Canadian by Charles Comfort (1935)

Flowers by David Milne
Drypoint print (1923)

A special thanks to Kelowna Art Gallery
for giving us a glimpse of Canada's artistic history
