Osprey chicks and apricots

On our morning walk to the wharf
we spotted THREE chicks in the osprey nest!
An "expert birder" told us that the third chick
to hatch would probably not survive as the earlier
hatchings would dominate and control the food supply.

Just one is visible in this shot...feeding on the day's catch!

After our walk we visited a friend's garden to gather apricots.

She said that they ripened overnight
and began to fall from the branches.
So delicious!!
