Scopelitis and sunset

The rooster lunch with homemade pasta was delicious!

Later in the day, while John was at the gym, I sat and watched the Scopelitis pull into port. This small ferry began to serve the small Cyclades islands in 1958. It is the lifeline of these islands, sailing between the islands every day except Sunday.

As I sat, sipping a Greek coffee, the Scopelitis tied up and discharged its cargo of tourists, the island Mayor and a small number of tourists. Meanwhile there were several sailboats waiting to tie up alongside the small ferry. Within half an hour there were 18 sailboats directed into position by a frantically waving Harbour policeman.

We joined Kalliroi and three other young friends to watch the sunset from Moon Bar before deciding to enjoy a fish dinner at a local taverna. Unfortunately the octopus was "over grilled" but the small shrimp and tiny fish were delicious.

Back in Chora a decision was made to join the others at Jazzmin for a nightcap. Whew!! Everyone was smoking, the music was loud and the doors were closed!!! We didn't last very long! All of our clothing was hung outside on the clothesline overnight in an attempt to "de-smoke" them. What is wrong with these young Greeks?????
